his beautiful quality mahogany chest which has four large drawers so has ample storage.  All the drawers are also dovetail jointed. The chest sits on top of beautiful splay feet.
It was thoroughly cleaned, sanded, and cleaned again before work even began. This ensures a good foundation for the paint to adhere to. It was primed with two coats and when thoroughly dried three coats of Little Greene paint was applied. To give an aged and worn appearance black glazing was applied to the edges of the drawers and roughly blended.  Gold wax was used to highlight the detailing to the front sides of the chest and also the top edges.
The handles have all been replaced with new swan neck dropper handles and brass backplates.
As with all vintage or antique furniture, there may be some wear and tear but this only enhances the look and of course, anything obvious is mentioned with photographs added.
